I found out from my publisher that Smashwords now has a no nip (and no bum, I guess) policy. Which means I either have to have the cover for Father's Keeper overhauled or it won't be available. I still haven't decided what I truly want to do but for the time being, it is totally available (nip and bum, all!) at Amazon (print and Kindle), at Barnes and Noble, at Fictionwise and, of course, at Excessica's home site (I think I might now be in the EDEN part of the store mostly). I am a little peeved, to be honest, since this woman is in shadow and you see much more than this in paintings in museums. But whatever, I guess I'll continue to ponder whether or not I want to overhaul a cover I adore in order to be in a single venue when others will carry me without issue.
I think I might have answered my own damn question right there ;-)

Good News, Bad News
Let's start with the good news, shall we? Sterling is currently a bestseller in Mystery/Suspense and Vampire/Werewolf on ARe. Super! It is also ranking at #66 today on Bookstrand. (Last night it was #69 which amused me). And it already has 3 ratings (2 4's and a 5 :) ). I am very pleased with my sexy gay werewolves. And I am very thrilled and thankful to readers for making them so popular so fast!
Bad news on the Uncle Ed's Lap and the Father's Keeper front. Despite my titles, both of my books are in essence love stories between two consenting (non-blood related) adults. However, they are falling dead in the culling of anything that even smells of sorta-kinda-maybe incest. So far they are gone from ARe, Bookstrand and if they are not gone from Smashwords yet, they will be soon.
Both titles (print and Kindle) are currently still available at Barnes and Noble and Amazon and I believe Fictionwise. So, if you have any interest in getting them. You might want to do it now. We do not know how far this will spread. If you believe in the right to read what you want and some of what you want to read is books like mine, I encourage you to visit The Self Publishing Revolution to learn how you can stand up for your rights.
That being said, if anything, the last few weeks have made me blog more than ever.
Have a great week :-)

happy making news

Sterling is a best seller in Mystery/Suspense at ARe. That's a first for me. Great start to my Saturday. If only I didn't have to work. Oh well, at least I'm smiling. :-)

Release day :)

Sterling is up at Excessica, Bookstrand and some other sites. Despite the current upheaval in erotica, it seems to be going up okay at the moment. It's still being loaded, so if you do not see it on your favorite sites, that doesn't necessarily mean anything.
I've heard through the grapevine that at least for the time being you must be logged in at ARe to see erotic titles. So if you don't have an account there but want to purchase (or see) your favorite erotic authors work, you have to set up an account. Which is free and takes only a minute, so it's not an unreasonable way to handle things while all the PP backlash is being dealt with.
I do urge you to buy right from Excessica if you can. It's always best to buy right from the source when possible. It means more money out of the cover price goes to your favorite publishers and authors.
TGIF! Trust me, I am glad to see it this week. :)

Well, the censors are at it again...
A simple Google of Paypal and erotica should tell you what is what. In the rush and excess of "pseudo incest" of the last year, some of my books are probably going to be hard to get or damn near impossible. Despite Uncle Ed's Lap and Father's Keeper very much being erotic romance works where a young woman FALLS FOR her Uncle and in the other a stepdaughter realizes she's been in love with her step father for a very long time (no blood relation/no crime/just unusual love stories), they will be culled along with some of the racier/flashier/in your face titles out there.
I"m not one to place blame, but I truly do think that instead of folks just pushing the envelope and toeing the line, they were leaping over it and beating it with a baseball bat. And this is what happens. Everything that even smells of incest, pseudo or otherwise, is going to start disappearing off your screen.
So, if you love erotica, unusual love stories and the freedom to read what you wish, please speak up. Tell your independent book sellers and ask them to find alternative payment options for 'taboo titles'. Bottom line, if everyone found an alternative way, then the big guys would have to reassess their guidelines and their 'we can do what we like because we are in charge' attitudes.
That being said, I'm going to nostalgically look at some of what's been said about two of my favorite novels. I will also urge you to buy them now if you want them, seeing as this thing is spreading like a cancer and some people are being told that BDSM titles are also a no-no.
Uncle Ed's Lap:
Claudia R., Manic Readers Reviews, 4/5 STARS
" Wow. This story is most definitely not for the faint of heart…. [T]his story is hot enough to burn the pages, but it also shows that with death you can also have love."
Dakota, Dark Diva Reviews, 4/5 DIVAS
"[Parker Ford] writes scorching hot love scenes to compliment the somber tone of a man dealing with his wife’s death… She has given her readers a near perfect balance… Who can resist the sexy older alpha male? Those alphas are like a fine wine and only get better with age."
Patrice F., Joyfully Reviewed
"The writing is vivid, sharp, and precise as emotions (guilt, grief, passion) are examined…Overall, Uncle Ed’s Lap kept me engaged…it’s exceptional whenever an author is willing to bring taboo subject matter to life, and do it justice."
LynnMarie, HEA Reviews, 5/5 CUPS
"Parker Ford has mastered the technique of writing sexual tension. It explodes off the pages…The sex was fully described and scorching hot! ... If you want to push the boundaries of your erotic reading experience, Uncle Ed’s Lap is an excellent place to start."
Seriously Reviewed
"The writing is smooth and titillating… Parker did a wonderful job incorporating a taboo subject with arousing sexual content with the sometimes-unexpected places a person can find love and comfort… Don’t shy away from Uncle Ed’s Lap because of the content warning or you will miss out on a wonderful story that will have you sweating with the steamy love scenes and emotionally poignant moments…"
Father's Keeper:
Editorial Reviews:
From Sheila, Two Lips Reviews
Ms. Ford lets me make my own judgment on this very emotional subject. She handles it with dignity. I know I will read her again.
From Seriously Reviewed, 17/20 SCORE!
The words flow off the page and into your mind...I loved this story. It feeds the wicked woman inside me that loves to read about relationships outside of normal. Hot, graphic sex that left me aching, characters that touched my heart and a story that will stay on the keeper shelf with Parker's other works.
From Blackraven, BlackRaven's Reviews, 4/5 RAVENS
Father's Keeper by Parker Ford has everything, passion, raw emotion, pain, anguish, longing, but most importantly love. If you haven't read one of Ms. Ford's book, you should definitely give Father's Keeper a try.
From Claudia R., Manic Readers Reviews, 4.5/5 STARS
Father's Keeper was great from front to back... finished it in one sitting. I cannot wait for another Parker Ford taboo story that pushes the boundaries of sex, passion, and of course, love.
From Thomas, Sizzling Hot Books
...a good read. I loved the way that the author built up the relationship between Jen and her step father... people who like to see a relationship bloom will like this story.

Guest Post: FaceBook Sex? with a FaceBook Confessions Giveaway By Abby Hayes
So, everyone has heard of phone sex, right? What I want to know is if there is some FaceBook sex going on these days? So let me ask you then, do you know of anyone who uses FaceBook’s chat or messages to talk sex online? I think I may be coining a new term here. *giggles* Just think though of the possibilities! If they used messaging they could include pictures or even videos. I mean in this day and age of webcams, we can watch someone on the other side of the globe masturbate, play with sex toys, or any host of things, and we can watch live as they are talking to us. Why couldn’t FaceBook be used this way?
Yes, we all hear the negative stories, where say a married woman hooked up with her high school sweetheart and broke up her marriage.. But, I’m not talking about that at all!
There are endless positive possibilities here too. I mean there is the obvious, the single gal, lonely for whatever reason, who finds and catches up with a very unattached ex on FaceBook. But, let’s think outside the box a bit more. I want modern and unusual.
Here is the situation I came up with. Two old girlfriends meet. Well, friends is being used loosely here as they were friends when young, but then fell in with different crowds in high school - one of them gaining that questionable reputation. What I ended up with then, was an online friendship, one woman now a stay at home mom with sexual frustrations and the other a newly married woman who prior had lived a life right out of some erotic novel. After some begging and pleading by the stay-at-home mother, the more sexually experienced of the two at first starts sharing her sexual escapades in short statements on FaceBook chat. But, when the new FaceBook friends meet days before their high school reunion, now that is when the fun starts…from the girlfriends playing together in the dressing room of an adult store, to including one husband, to including both husbands. All of this yumminess from a few FaceBook chats about sex? Why not?
So, here is a clip from one of the chats in my novella, Finding Paradise:
Nevaeh Knollinger Wade Led him to room, soon as we got in he pressed me against the wall, his hands felt huge when he ran them down my sides, was wet instantly – god, should I have said that? How many details you want?
Kelly Carver Gordon More details. Spare me nothing. Get graphic! Cock – pussy – wet – I don’t care!
Nevaeh Knollinger Wade LOL!!!! Okay. You asked for it! He tore off my sweater, forced my back harder against the wall, bra disappeared, one nipple he rolled between his fingers, the other he took into his warm mouth, he sucked me in, greedy
Kelly Carver Gordon Like a man desperate for nourishment! No, I don’t read it too much!
Kelly felt her own nipples tighten into stiff peaks. She found herself becoming more aroused noticing the way Nevaeh’s two tiny mounds presented themselves under her dress in her profile picture Then, she quickly turned her eyes to her mug of tea as if she would get caught.
Nevaeh Knollinger Wade Sorry. I’m not being poetic enough for you.
Kelly Carver Gordon No, I was just being goofy trying to make sure you feel comfortable, kept telling me the story :)
Nevaeh Knollinger Wade Okay. Continuing! Threw head back expecting him to go to the other nipple, instead his mouth trailed down over my stomach, pressure was intense, my stomach clenched, his other hand squeezed my other breast at the same time… make sense?
Kelly Carver Gordon I think I get the picture quite clear ;)
Nevaeh Knollinger Wade His touches were pure pleasure bordering on pain, he placed
a kiss on my jean-covered mound, undid my jeans, tore the denim off me in seconds, then he surprised me again, he bit at the cloth of my panties, tugged them away from my flesh with is teeth, then let them snap back against me, several times before pushing aside with his fingers, he spread me open, licked me. I am no writer, but this is fun trying to come up with the words. Maybe I should’ve said, spread open my throbbing pussy lips – I’ve read an erotic romance or two in my day!
Kelly Carver Gordon You are doing an excellent job.
Nevaeh Knollinger Wade Are you wet, my old neighbor/new friend? Are your nipples
hard? Mine are.
Kelly had a moment of feeling weirded-out, and worried about how she would now feel face to face with Nevaeh at the reunion. But, she’d promised she would go. What the hell, now. She continued to play along.
Kelly Carver Gordon Yes. I am wet.
End of clip!
So, what do you think? Have you heard of anyone having FaceBook Sex? Any FaceBook Confessions? If so, leave them in the comments, about your “friend” of course *snickers*. Then, if you would like a chance to win a copy of this ebook, just send an email to abby-hayes@mail.com with FaceBook Confessions in the subject line. One winner will be chosen a week from today :)
Finding Paradise Blurb:
Days before her high school reunion, Kelly reconnects on Facebook with childhood friend, Nevaeh—a woman who, rumor has it, has lived a life straight out of some erotic novel. And, Kelly has a lot of erotica on her ereader! Ménages, slave fantasies, strangers and BDSM are all included in the stories Nevaeh has to share.
This sexy, world traveler incites Kelly to forge a friendship unlike any she’s ever had before. She never knew a shopping trip could be so educational, especially in an adult store. With her head spinning and her panties damp, Kelly embarks on a crusade to reignite the passion her and her husband, Nate, once had with a few new toys and other surprises. When he surprises her by being a more than willing participant, she decides to test a few boundaries, push a few limits...
Kelly becomes determined to find out if her old neighbor is right, if
paradise can be found within your own four walls with the man you married. But, what happens when Kelly’s husband finds out about all of her time spent with Nevaeh? What will happen when Nevaeh’s husband, Hayden, comes into town for the reunion? Will her marriage be in trouble, or will things go further than Kelly ever dreamed they could go?

I am not dead
You probably thought I might be. But no. Just a very bad blogger and a very busy woman lately. So, on to the update! Come early 2012 I'll have a novella coming out. I don't have a cover yet and I haven't finalized everything yet, so I have zero to actually show you or even a title to announce. (I am a wee bit superstitious).
I also just wrapped up a short novel, so that's in the oven to bake as well.
I should be back in the next few weeks to months with a lovely cover and a blurb about the February release. In the meantime, if I don't come back and blog like an on-the-ball blogger...have a great holiday season! Read something dirty to keep warm :)

Late to the party
Through no fault of my own. I have literally not been able to get into blogger to post for weeks. Every time I tried, I failed. And I'm not really in a position to be able to try very often. So here goes:
First bit of good news is that the print and Kindle versions of Uncle Ed's Lap have been selling very well on Amazon as part of a buy three get one free deal. That was really nice to see it continuously ranking in not only Fiction but in Erotica. :-)
Second bit of good news is I have a F/F story, Don't Stand So Close To Me, in the new 10-story anthology Gritty: Rough Erotic Fiction seen above and found here on ARe. I think it's also on Kindle and Smashwords and some other places. And man, oh man, check out that cover. Done by Excessica's own Willsin Rowe.
That's it for now. I hope I said everything I had to say. Goodness knows when I might get back in. LOL.
Oh, yes, there is talk of an upcoming Excessica title for 2012. Works for me!

Very cool stuff...
I stole this from the Dirtyville Site:

We did really well on our sales for Quarter 1 of 2011. I'm not sure what happened, but as I sat and tallied, I was shocked. Over 150 copies in total so far. And I haven't gotten all the numbers. As a thank you to readers, I'm putting the Dirtyville: 13 Tales of Small Town Naughty and Kinkyville: 13 More Tales of Small Town Naughty on sale for 65% off on ARe for the next two weeks. So, for a buck-oh-five a pop you can see what all the sales are about. :)
So that's nifty. Check that out for a bargain.
And since I have not blogged in like two months, I wanted to say I got a very nice five star rating and a nice little review for Father's Keeper on Amazon. So thanks to Lani, wherever she is :)

Get 'em while you can...before the death knell

Though there is no biological incest in Uncle Ed's Lap, Amazon has seen fit to yank the title in Kindle version. If you want a print copy, my suggestion to you is buy it now. Who knows how long it will be around.
I have emailed them explaining the nature of the book and that the love affair is between a widower and a college freshman (of age) related only by marriage. Nothing worse than a ton of other books they carry. But I don't hold out much hope. Sadly, it's easy to pick on the little guy, I guess. Were my book published by a large publishing house, I doubt this would be happening.
Happy freaking Valentine's Day to me...

4.5 stars from Manic Readers
for Father's Keeper! "What another wonderful story by Parker Ford." :) Happy dance over the reception this one is receiving.
Read the full review here. The MR review is second in. They have revamped and all reviews for books will be under the book title in the order that they come in from various review sites. So my four stars are sitting on top of my four and a half stars...cozy!

At Fictionwise when you order them by Bestselling. Of course, that can change at the drop of a hat (or a snowflake) so I thought I'd take a picture. Pretty. (click it. it gets bigger!) :-)
And thank you to whoever rated me as Great! Big fat kisses XXX

"I discovered an intense, raw, passionate story about loneliness, longing, and unrequited love..."
I always sweat the first review! Black Raven Reviews have reviewed Father's Keeper and I've walked away with four stars (divas). Yay!
Now I can breathe. The first one is done. And it's not too shabby.
We are dealing with some snowy rain today as we head out. It's snow...it's rain...then snow. Is that snain?

jeesh...amazon

Some of you may have heard about Amazon pulling incest-related erotica. So, I've been reading a lot of the uproar and there is a string or whatever you call it on Twitter with the hash tag #amazoncensors.
I won't lie, this could affect me with my titles like Uncle Ed's Lap and the upcoming Father's Keeper. UEL is 'incest' in so far as it is a younger woman falling for her older widowed uncle (by marriage) and Father's Keeper is a long buried crush on a stepfather that emerges in adulthood and turns to an affair. Both are technically incest, in my understanding, so I guess theoretically, they too could disappear from Amazon at any moment (well, not FK as it's not there yet).
Selena Kitt blogs about this much more eloquently than I am managing right now on TSPR site and it's been covered on several sites including Teleread and Slashdot. Read up and weigh in if you feel they've gone too far.
I can say this, I've read graphic rape/murder/torture etc scenes or full chapters about gory serial killer murders and basically step by step instructions on how to commit a horrible crime that bother me way more than a grown man deciding he wants to have an affair with his step mom. Either way, if you feel the urge to speak up, join the Twitter stream, contact Amazon and have your voice heard, blog it, whatever you feel is right. Because without us (the customer) there is no Amazon. If enough people speak up, maybe they'll stop picking and choosing at random what is 'appropriate' and what is not. If there is going to be a morals code, it needs to be clear, concise and listed for all to read, understand and FOLLOW.
